Shenzhen, Jan. 15 (Reporter) – Developed by Yuejiang Technology, the 1.2-meter-tall humanoid robot Atom has started service at Shenzhen’s K11 ART House cinema, becoming the world’s first fully autonomous humanoid robot in complex commercial scenarios. It completes the entire popcorn sales chain without human assistance, achieving 14 hours of continuous work, zero errors, and over 1,000 servings sold daily.

Outstanding Operational Capabilities

Unlike traditional robots, Atom realizes closed-loop operation from order to delivery. It serves over 70 customers hourly—three times human efficiency—with 12 HD cameras and lidar enabling rapid 3D mapping and accurate obstacle recognition.

It can handle unexpected situations independently, such as spilled popcorn, by activating error-correction programs instantly. Its high-precision robotic arms ensure stable gripping without damaging cups.

Core Technology Support

Atom’s capabilities rely on Yuejiang’s self-developed Dobot-VLA model, integrating perception, language understanding and motion to form an intelligent closed loop for task decomposition and path adjustment.

Its "dual-brain" system enables autonomous decision-making and natural customer interaction, adapting to real-time scenarios without pre-set responses.

Commercial Value & Industry Impact

Popcorn sales test its commercial viability—Atom generates daily revenue equivalent to three staff, with lower operating costs than human labor, boosting cinema profits.

It sets a replicable model for service industry intelligence, creating new roles instead of replacing humans. Yuejiang plans a 2026 catering version with expanded functions.

Future of Embodied Intelligence

Atom’s deployment advances humanoid robot commercialization. Shenzhen’s innovation strength shines here, with a bright market outlook for such technologies.

"Atom embodies technological warmth, freeing humans for higher-value work," noted an audience member. It paves the way for intelligent robots in daily life.
